Botox at the Dentist: what to expect
Many patients enjoy the convenience and exceptional results delivered by Dr. Marckese with Botox or dermal fillers. An AAFE certified dentist, Dr. Marckese has been trained by field experts in the safe and effective use of Botox and dermal fillers. She will evaluate the condition of your skin, discuss your goals and recommend the appropriate treatment. Botox and dermal fillers are used to reduce the appearance of facial fine lines and wrinkles. Commonly injected around the mouth, nose, eyes, and brows, these products have been proven to provide a smoother appearance and to restore lost volume.
The process is relatively simple and begins by numbing the area to be treated with a local anesthetic. Dr. Marckese will then use microneedles to place the Botox injections into the appropriate muscle beneath the surface of the skin. Dermal fillers are used to restore lost volume and are also placed strategically into areas where wrinkles are visible due to changes in the elasticity and volume of the skin. You may experience mild sensitivity or swelling at the injection site, but this should diminish in the first 48 hours after the procedure. You will see some immediate results and then a more gradual improvement in skin tone over the coming weeks.
